אליתא
אַלִּיתָאor אֲלִיתָא f. (cmp. אֵלָה, אַלֹּון ) 1) fig-tree (of a certain species).בְּרַת א׳ name of a fig species. Gen. R. s. 15, end ברת א׳וכ׳ Ar. (ed. אלי) it is called brath alitha (daughter of mourning, v. אַלְיָתָא), because it has brought wailing and weeping into the world (as the fruit of the tree of knowledge). 2) wood of the fig-tree, used as kindling wood on the altar (h. form אַלִיתָה).
